An oldie. I mean me, not the photo. Kidding, but only a little. I’m ready for some Ca sunshine after all of this rain!! But I’ll be the first to admit that rain on thanksgiving and while Christmas tree shopping was both magic & misery. Moody and cozy for the holiday but a wet tree, 3 kids & no umbrella sounds like the beginning of a bad joke! But bless these babes there were smiles all around and now warm baths while we wait for the tree to try a bit. I’m thankful it’s the weekend and for a warm home filled with the people I love so deeply! And a Christmas tree!!! .

I’ll love you forever. Tomorrow I’m 32 years old & 8 days later we cheers to ELEVEN years as Mr. & Mrs. ✨
When I reflect on my life so far I’m humbled that I’ve been so fortunate. Life is messy, it’s hard & full of exhausting battles BUT battles can be won, messes can be cleaned up and hard things take work but get easier with time, understanding and patience. I’m so loved, I’ve never doubted that for a moment in my life – that’s something I have never taken for granted. As I get older I really understand that love offers a safe place – for you, for the refugee, for the abused & broken. A place where we are reminded that we are worthy of being loved. We get broken in relationship but we can also heal in relationship where love is pure. I have learned that love DOES – love isn’t silent, it doesn’t see a hurting person & turn away. Love believes the best, it makes a way for broken people, it offers hope. Pure love has the power to rebuild our brokenness. The way Scott loves me is something he chose to do, he chose to be intuitive & aware of my heart and love me in a way that I’m grateful for every single day.

We just spent the week with some of our closets, most dear friends from our previous home city, San Diego. I am so filled up and grateful! Our week was spent making new memories, vulnerably sharing challenges and reminding each other that being together and living in each moment with people you love is like splashing cool water on a rosy-cheeked face. It was so nice to slow down and be aware of the places, spaces & people who enrich our lives so much; especially to share it with someone who I adore so greatly!

Last night I heard a random beeping in our house around 3am. I raised my head, wide eyed & assumed someone was lurking in the hall, naturally. They silently cracked open a very locked window, I know it!! (I can’t be the only one who jumps to these extremes, tell me I’m right & put my mind at ease!) I rested my arm on my husband and before I could say, “I hear a beep!” he was feeling my arm up & down as if searching for an ailment and instantly asked me if I was ok. In the moment I shook him off & said, “a beep!!” It wasn’t until my heart stopped racing and he identified the culprit (a dying microphone, thanks kids. Glad you slept though it ?) that I thought about his reaction to laying my arm on him in his sleep.
His innate, immediate & sincere concern for my well being had my head reeling with gratitude for him. I’m Olivia & I suffer from being a really deep thinker – the kinda gal that has a single eye opening moment that sends me into the depths of exploring Gods existence in my life. He was there in that moment, wrapped up in the man I love who instantly showed me my value to him without having to express it in mushy words.
I’ve felt this strange feeling of isolation and misunderstanding recently & what I realized in that brief beeping (no, do not insert a swear word there!) moment, was that Scott sees me & feels for me even in his most groggy form. That his heart has made room for me that holds me so closely I couldn’t be alone even if I tried. Marriage is a beast of frustrations, mountains to climb & the deepest, truest place of acceptance that I have ever known. My people. Ugh!! They’re the coolest!! Our oldest will be double digits in 1 month and the following month my littlest will be 4 – the baby in him is dwindling & with that comes my ugly cry & an hour of watching baby videos every night. Time is the weirdest thing! Only 3 years ago we were living in California & taking care of a newborn, I had no idea I’d start my own business or be a homeowner! I remember throwing my hands up & telling Jesus if He had plans to change things up that I was up for whatever – the very next day (literally) the ball started rolling & a plan was being made for our move to Michigan! Sometimes He’s just waiting for us to realize we don’t run the show, if we’ll let Him open our eyes and hearts then He can show us the surprising and awesome things He has planned for us! ? @kaleighdsimmonsphoto ✨

Heeeyyyy yoooou guys!! My name’s Olivia… Liv, Livy, Olive, O… ya know, whatever ya feelin’! There are few things I don’t have much patients for – they include ants, my husbands video game marathons, fake people & diarrhea. I have to believe some of you can relate to at least one of those! Ps.
That was just for fun, I hope you laughed and didn’t unfollow me because I used an unladylike word… fake, def not diarrhea! (Sorry not sorry!) Now, for things about me that actually matter – I am a happy person (unless my kids are whining, then I want to hurt things), I have always really loved fashion! Not the cliche kind, the kind that pertains to real life and everyday women – like you. I chose to be a personal stylist because I care about women just tryin to be the truest, most confident version of themselves & we all know that when we feel good about our clothes it really helps a sista out. •
I love the idea of pets & have a major soft spot for bunnies, but most animals (the kind with fur) make my jaw itch – so weird. • I grew up as a country girl here in Michigan, the kind that swung over ponds holding onto weepy willow branches and catching tad poles in the ditches. I treasure my childhood and the 50 acres of land I grew up running around naked on! Relax, 50 acres means no one could see me & also I was like 5 – I just wanted to get ya riled up. • one of my most fav things (aside from fresh flowers in my house, coffee, wood fired pizza & the sun) is authentic, non-judgmental people. People who aren’t afraid to be completely true to who they are no matter who their company is. The kind of people that are the same in person & on their instagram, not trying to impress or cover up who they really are. • Lastly, I’m the weirdo in the movie theater by myself on a regular basis and there ain’t NO SHAME in my game!! • but for real, what you see is what you get with me – I’m glad you’re here hanging on my feed and I hope you thoroughly enjoy trolling to see what I’m all about. #thisisme

I hope you guys had the best long weekend! I found the tastiest rainbow veggie + lime crema salad recipe that I’ll make for the rest of my life, suh gud! But the best part was having a sleepover with 2 of our besties @kelseyhettinga & her husband Tim. We made margs & watched a movie then they crashed in the guest room. Dating (then engaged & married, then kid, then kid & then kid… whew) this guy since 2005 & I love him more deeply, more adventurously then I did on day 1! Here’s a little shout out to my man because he has loved me without fail since the moment we made a commitment to each other. He’s said, “I believe in you” with every new idea I’ve pursued, he’s loved me through some of the most emotional seasons of my life & has remained my safe place at every moment. Dear Mr. Sun,
Thank you for coming to visit and shining oh-so-vibrantly today!
So, this morning I went to a kickboxing class at 7:45am, I was still wiping sleep drool from my chin when I pulled up. So early. But! It was my first time & can I just say, I felt like such a BOSS. Seriously. The whole time I was taking to my punching bag, “my arms might be skinny, but fool you’re going down!!” It was an entirely different kind of satisfying than I had anticipated! I won’t be able to walk or lift my arms tomorrow but it was def worth it. After that I came home with a tray full tasty Starbucks drinks for my hair dresser (& lifelong friend), one of my closest gals & myself in preparation for a spring hair makeover in my kitchen! (Pics to follow someday, we all know I’m not the best at posting often…Is it bad that I don’t care?!) It’s been a really happy day and I’m a really happy girl. Also, any chance you noticed the incredibly fantastic top I’m wearing in this picture?! @clothandcabin Spring line gives me all the feels! So many good pieces for you to drool over, good luck only picking 7!! Happy Saturday!! .
