Purging & rebuilding feels so dang gooooooooood!!! Get rid of the stuff that you constantly second guess or better yet, get a second set of eyes to help you see things differently! Maybe items will go but just maybe you’re sitting on treasures just waiting to be styled and worn!
Is it faded? Misshapen after the laundry? Worn? Pitted out? Does it fit a little weird? Does it wash you out? Does it make you feel boring or insecure?? Get rid of it!! There is nothing that can’t be replaced for something you’ll love & feel confident in!

It’s cold & all I want is the warm sun so I can stop taking 2 (yes, literally) hot showers a day to kick the chill that goes to my bones. Plus my skin is not happy with me about it either.
I guess I could stop getting iced coffee & wearing pants that are cropped so my ankles stay warm, that might help…
But somedays ya just gotta go with the crop because it rocks with the top, ya feelin’ me!? Welp, cats out of the bag with how smooth that last sentence was… I’m officially switching careers to becoming the new Cardi, I’ll just have (a lot) less cleavage. I swore I’d never post a bathroom pic but ya know what, I’m not too good for a bathroom pic! That & 50% of my time is spent at home with kids so photo ops for a killer outfit just don’t happen often. I wonder what your behind-the-scenes looks like and if it resembles mine at all… A (mostly) happy, (sometimes lonely) mingling of motherhood & boss. I’m reminded today that although dates with my husband are far too infrequent, my kids consume my energy & my business is still a one woman show – I am living & breathing the unraveling of a dream… I get to date the man of my dreams forever, I have 3 beautiful, kind kids to pour my energy into & my business continues to grow & flourish! I am grateful for this season, I embrace it & I’ll choose to be present and invested in my life through every season!

Because fishnets and a little bubble sleeve make the world a better place! Well, my world anyways! Maybe plaid or stilettos make your world a better place! That’s the beauty of this style thing, we all have things that make us feel beautiful and express our individuality! There are ways to incorporate styles/trends outside of your comfort zone into your wardrobe in a really comfortable way. I love helping women discover their style & it’s just so much easier done when you understand your body type, fabrics & colors that works best for you. Those are things that I love to help my clients understand! I not only work one on one, I’ve had the honor to be able to speak to rooms of women that all struggle with the same things… positive body image, frustration over getting dressed or shopping, understanding how to best dress their body type and I would love to do so much more of that! What I wish you could see in this photo is the moment we realized we could feed alpacas that lived directly behind this studio. As in, open a door in the back of the studio and walk right into their feeding area!
They were stinky, adorable, enthralling & I was obsessed with the idea that such a beautiful studio had this unexpected surprise! There was something so honest about it; the collision of this beautiful studio & these wild animals and the fact that they shared a single door. (I’m working on embracing the way my mind works when it comes to this stuff but I do appreciate that Jesus created me with tenderness & insight toward seemingly ordinary things.) We paint a calculated representation of who we are and allow the world to see it but we hesitate to crack the door where, on the other side you’d find the messes of our lives. Reality is that we all have this door, the one hanging in balance of our beauty & our mess. We tell ourselves people will love us less if they knew about the mess on the other side when the truth is it bridges gaps, offers freedom & gives others the opportunity to feed our hearts & feel understood in return. We are all messy & we have all been broken, it’s a part of our story! Just like one success doesn’t cap our ability to achieve, one painful circumstance doesn’t blemish us. John 1:5 says, “Light shines in the darkness and the darkness can not ever come it.” If we crack open the door from our perfect facade into our passing pains then they can’t stay in the darkness & chip away at us. So today I’m aware of my door and the insecurities on the other side & I’m allowing a crack so the light can get in – I am not inadequate, I am enough! I am worthy! I am loved! I am strong! I am not alone! YOU are enough, you are worthy, you are loved, you are strong and sister, you are not alone.

We’ve done it!! Eleven years!! Honestly, This guy deserves so much more than an Instagram highlight shout out, he deserve my time and attention. He deserves quiet nights in with my phone turned off and my heart & mind wildly connected to his. He deserves to see me and know me in all of my forms and to be honored for the vast sacrifices he has made to help our family flourish! He protects me physically, mentally, emotionally & invests in my spirit. He challenges me to see my own strengths, to really understand & identify them so that my confidence grows. He guards my mind and remains faithful & transparent. He and I really are better together, but we’ve had so many opportunities to cave and throw in the towel – haven’t we all?! We’ve had to work through some (very) hard situations, we’ve fought & the couch gained a body for the night. We’ve had upsets and disagreements with the best of them but he STILL chooses to love me & hear me. He’s my ultimate person, the one who tells me every day how beautiful I am. I’ll love you forever. Tomorrow I’m 32 years old & 8 days later we cheers to ELEVEN years as Mr. & Mrs. ✨
When I reflect on my life so far I’m humbled that I’ve been so fortunate. Life is messy, it’s hard & full of exhausting battles BUT battles can be won, messes can be cleaned up and hard things take work but get easier with time, understanding and patience. I’m so loved, I’ve never doubted that for a moment in my life – that’s something I have never taken for granted. As I get older I really understand that love offers a safe place – for you, for the refugee, for the abused & broken. A place where we are reminded that we are worthy of being loved. We get broken in relationship but we can also heal in relationship where love is pure. I have learned that love DOES – love isn’t silent, it doesn’t see a hurting person & turn away. Love believes the best, it makes a way for broken people, it offers hope. Pure love has the power to rebuild our brokenness. The way Scott loves me is something he chose to do, he chose to be intuitive & aware of my heart and love me in a way that I’m grateful for every single day.

Don’t be predictable with your style, add splashes of unexpected color and print, a hair scarf or pair of earrings a little outside of your comfort zone. Even if no one else notices, do it for you! (Chances are they will notice and they’ll feel inspired by your guts to give it a go!) Add something that you love but have been too nervous to try – most of the time you’ll feel more excited and confident the longer you wear it. Style isn’t about a certain shirt or accessory, it’s a representation of who you are! What words would you choose to describe your style? How about the words you would use to describe your personality? There is rarely just one word for either because we aren’t defined by one element, we are intricate and wonderfully complex! •”In life we can dread the sacrifice or we can anticipate the reward.”• Ya know when you hear something that seems to bust through your chest and grab ahold of your heart? Those little truths are the stepping stones through seasons of my life. They’re the pefect bite sized but profound truths that shift my perspective just enough to keep me moving forward & my heart in check. That quote from @christybwright got me!! How many times are we so focused on the sacrifices we have to make that the reward is hardly visible? Dang girl, if there’s anything I’ve learned through starting a business it is that the reward MUST stay front and center, when it gets cloudy there’s suddenly all this space for doubt and fear to completely hinder momentum. Of course there are areas where certain sacrifices must be balanced with wisdom – for me, my kids top the charts. Sacrificing the year I have left before West starts school is front and center, I won’t sacrifice that time with him… but I WILL balance it because both he & my growing business hold reward! I can’t get that year with him back but it also doesn’t become my excuse not to DO what is in my heart to do. When I choose to work away from home it doesn’t mean that I’m a bad mom or that I’m sacrificing all my mama responsibilities; it mean that I’m equally valuing myself as a woman and business owner and making money to help support my family is good both for them and for me! And can I just say mamas, I’ve heard the ‘shoulds’ about being a full time stay at home mom… it’s hard to ignore them and stay confident that what you’re doing is right for you & your family. For those of you called to the full time at home role, BLESS YOU! Flourish there, your sacrifice will be honored! And for those of you like me, don’t let anyone squelch your fire for being mama and boss, you are graced to do it! Find your balance, weigh your sacrifices, be mama when your babes need you & boss when there’s peace in your home! I believe in you, sincerely.
