Big changes around here! We have officially arrived in San Diego! These plant babies made the road trip with me & I’ll admit I almost lost a few of them to heat in Arizona… I may or may not have made a detour to a spa and left them to fend for themselves in 104 degrees. Plant mom fail. Rest assured, they’ve perked back up and are busy soaking in some organic fertilizer soil oils I paid way too much for. Plant mom win! Also, this dress was a glorious score at Anthro during their tag sale! $25!! Yes of course I did a happy dance when it fit just perfectly! There’s so much updating to do but for now you should know the most important things – we are well, only minimal tears so far & Starbucks is 1.5 blocks from our new home. Jesus has our back. .

What in the?! It seems SO surreal that in just over 3 weeks we will be living on the west coast again. I haven’t had the time to dream about what it might look like for us living in Ca this time around. I don’t just feel like a totally different person since our move to the Midwest, I AM a different person. I’ve had such awe-inducing opportunities here that have left me reeling in gratitude & personal growth. Now more than ever I’ve come to really grasp that time is fleeting and that what I do with my time, my life, is entirely up to me. Every interaction, every step, every opportunity is a choice I have the privilege to explore and grow through! I used to be afraid of the big dreams. The ones that made me ask myself, “who the eff do you think you are Liv!? Why do you think you have what it takes? There’s nothing extraordinary about you.” I know I’m not alone here, guys – what debilitating things have you believed about yourself? Cuz dang, they’re such lies. What once made me feel inferior now lights a fire in my soul, not because I’ve mastered self confidence or I’ve achieved something extraordinary and I have the world at my fingertips… because I understand my design. That I was wired with compassion & tenderness, with gifts not for my own gain but to impact those around me. I was created with a purpose to change the world around me simply by being me! By offering my abilities to help people who need them, fear wouldn’t only hold me but it would steal from those I was created to impact for good. I am very excited about what’s next for this Midwest girl & curious how the Lord will use me. .

I am a personal stylist, a strategic shopper, a wardrobe visionary. I am a mama, a wife, a homemaker & a believer in women – whatever their dreams may be! I believe in prioritizing myself as an entrepreneur & dreamer equal to my other titles because I choose to value & love myself as much as I love my family. It blows my mind that there’s a common thought that women’s dreams expire when they become a mother (while also fulfilling one by becoming a mama!) & I for one, am all for the women empowering women shift happening in our culture! For a woman to be believed in & reminded by other successful women that she CAN prioritize herself is a solid game changer. Even if prioritizing herself looks like a warm bath and a glass of wine without being interrupted! (For me it’s more like a weekend trip to Chicago for shopping and eating…??‍♀️) Our babies should never fall down the priority list & the truth is that neither should mama! When kids know they’re loved, seen & valued they don’t feel betrayed when mama has to go to work. They feel proud! I mean for real,
my kids share about my business during ‘good news time’ at school because they know they’re a part of its success! They don’t get cut from the dreaming or successes even if it’s not their own, they join in the celebration & suddenly they feel like they have ownership – it’s freaking beautiful (Insert ugly cry). I’ve made a lot of sacrifices as a mama, like the rest of you, juggling all of my hats & wearing certain ones longer than others. My dreams were sacrificed for a season so I could stay home with my babes as I had always dreamed I would, but those ambitions didn’t become less important through the process. I found people (shout out to you hubby, top of my biggest cheerleader list!) who saw my heart to become the best possible mother I could be but also chase my dream of becoming a stylist & gave me space to keep dreaming even if it’s reality was years away. Thats what we all need, people who remind us it’s ok to dust off the dreams & go after what we want, to remind us how important they really are when we are in a season of sacrifice. So,in case no one’s reminded you lately, your dreams are worth it!

My life has been consumed with painting, scrubbing grout, cleaning door jams, pulling weeds, solo parenting & often feeling like I’m barely keeping my head above water long. This is a gentle reminder to myself that although life is (complete chaos) slightly out of the norm right now, I am the same me. The same hard working, bust-A girl boss, energetic & diligent mom, fun loving wife & adventurous friend. Tough seasons can take a toll while walking through them but we often don’t realize what we are actually learning with each step along the way. We grow, we accept challenges & fight to over come them, we get sharpened & refined if we choose to keep on going believing that we are worth it & that we are more than conquerors. I suppose this isn’t just a reminder to me, but to you too! Your tough seasons don’t define you, they build you. Keep on truckin’ girl, silence the chaos and take a big, deep breath and remember who you are! You’re a conqueror! .

THIS IS A BIG DEAL!! I shared in my stories that this little (very busy, very fruitful, very exciting, very exhausting) business of mine is growing!! I have official added a second stylist to help run things here in GR because, wait for it… I’ll be moving with my family back to San Diego in June! Crazy!! I’ll be launching in a second city and GUYS IT’S BANANAS!! The last few months have been so insane around here, my husband took a great job in Ca & we are prepping for the move in June when my babes are out of school. I’ve had countless moments of emotions changing on a whim, bittersweet realizations, excitement over a growing dream & my fair share of processing. I’m unbelievably full of gratitude for this life, the people I share it with & the things God has trusted me with. Seasons changing is always uncomfortable but that’s where growth comes – when we choose diligence, Faith, trust His leading & choose to reside in His peace even if fear is tapping at the door because that peace, it silences fear. He can do SO much more beyond what we can think, hope or imagine and I am all in for that!

Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring can be tooouuugh! The suns warm, the breeze is cold – so how do you dress for that nonsense?! Don’t be afraid to continue wearing your sweaters, just mix them with a lighter, springier piece on bottom like light wash denim, a pencil skirt or a shoe that exposes your ankle/top of your foot. Add in spring colored layers on top with your jeans & don’t second guess wearing your heavier blazers still! There’s no wrong way as long as your warm when it’s chilly and cool when it’s hot! And keep in mind that color is the most significant element transitioning through seasons! Happy spring!!

When His plans seem to change every aspect of our lives it’s so (freaking) nice to find the safety & reassurance in His word that we can trust Him because His plan is to position us for more. The crazy thing is that when we think we’ve figured out His plan & we’ve finally arrived at that ‘THIS IS IT!!!’ moment, suddenly plans change. If we knew every plot twist in life we would have no reason to keep trusting God! I love that when we truly think we’ve arrived at that big, glorious moment of dreams coming true, He changes the plan in order to expand our vision – not discourage us. He wants us to dream bigger & He’s allowed our capacity for more to increase. I’m a dreamer to my core, but like most other people, I get comfortable and start going through the motions – that’s right when He always seems to show up & shake things up. Hang on through this wild life ride, let your dreams expand and position yourself to say yes when God is asking you to trust Him with the next big step!
I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

Yeah, I get stuck in (effing, cuz these kinds of ruts deserve a swear word) clothing ruts too. Sometimes I try something new, look at myself in the mirror & OLIVIA!! All the bad thoughts come flooding in like a freight train. Walking out of the house feeling uninspired & self conscious sets a real positive tone for the day, doesn’t it? No thanks! But this is what I’ve come to understand about clothes, they’re just like every other relationship we have. We search for security, comfort, safety, inspiration & identity in them. They help to shape us into who we want to become & what we believe about ourselves. I want my clothing to offer security in areas I might not always feel good about. And all relationships need to be kept in check right?! I mean if home girl is stirring up some trouble you walk away! You (ideally, I know that’s not always easy) set boundaries to protect your heart. Typically we are drawn to people who make us feel inspired, understood, free & alive – people we feel proud to be seen with! Insert your wardrobe here… if you start your every day off feeling depleted, uninspired & self conscious then your relationship needs to change for your own well being. People and clothing should not becoming a hinderance to your potential or your overall health & beliefs about yourself. I am not a stylist just for the glamor (but let’s be real I def drool over the fancy things), I am a stylist because I believe in your potential and that your clothing is a major way of unlocking it! Set a boundary with your clothing like you would with someone who’s stealing your joy, get rid of them. They’re not worth keeping close if all they do is hurt you. ? @kaleighdsimmonsphoto

I love working one on one with clients to build a strategic wardrobe, one that accommodates every facet of their lives! Your wardrobe should reflect your values & lifestyle, it should motivate you, offer you confidence and security and most of all it should feel exciting for you to get dressed every single day whether it’s a casual day, a work day, a girls night out, a special event or a trip to the gym!
As a stylist it’s not my goal to fill your closet with designer pieces or to break the bank – not even close! I work with a close budget if that’s what gives you peace through the process! I am a firm believer if something steals your peace, the price is too high – whether that’s financial or circumstantial.
