I spent the morning with some legit ladies around Grand Rapids discovering each others businesses, talents and passions. There’s something completely magical about women sharing their raw visions and ambitions and knowing they’re surrounded by women who are cheering for their success!

A sneak peak from today’s shoot with a few locals that seriously left me floating! Collaborating is the best! Well when it works as seamlessly as it did today, anyways. I’m ALL for partnering to create magic, without a doubt – but that’s not always the outcome, I’ve gotten majorly burned and discouraged as a result of collabs too. (Am I allows to say that or this a taboo topic?! I don’t really care either way. ??‍♀️)
But I choose to keep going, to forget about the people who treated me poorly or felt for some reason they had to bulldoze me. Maybe I was a threat? If that’s the case they never took the time to know me, my vision or my heart and that’s a bummer because I’m a pretty easy person to buddy up to! Needless to say, I’m a little bit more careful with who I choose to partner up with these days.
Today I worked with @helloimemmaquinn @alyssamcelheny @launchsalon and they were all of the things (and more!) that you hope for in a project! We made magic. I have more projects coming that I’m very excited to share with you all!! Plus more stunners from today’s shoot as well! .

The amount of snow that has fallen in the last 12 hours in GR is ummm, no bueno. Beautiful? Absolutely! Cozy? I mean it’s like magic when you’re inside looking out! But I think half of this would have been just as lovely, sky… Thanks a lot. I think it’s officially time to say it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas with all of this sparkling, white ‘tow’ – as my 3 year old would say. You know when you’re in a season of growth and moments of feeling overwhelmed sneak up & you’re not sure you have the capacity to grow anymore? I found myself in one of those moments recently, an extended one, actually… I hate when they do that! When they seem to linger for longer than they’re welcome. But it’s also in those moments, those seasons, that the need for inward growth becomes greater.
This season has been challenging! It’s amazing what the Lord will speak when you really pour your heart out to Him & let Him get closer. I found myself in the middle of worship at @newchapel pouring my heart out with expectation; James 4:8 says that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. He spoke one simple thing to my heart that morning and it was then that I understood this season I’m in – it’s an opportunity. A chance to let the Lord work in me to increase my capacity, refresh my spirit and give new vision for my family & business! If a business needs to grow strategically you better believe the people behind them do too! I’m amazed again & again at the goodness of God and how intentionally He works in our lives. So I’m soaking up this season of nearness to Him and excited for the things to come! ? @kelseyhettinga .

We had our first Christmas party this week and it was so much fun! (Yes, it was before December 1st & I totally appreciated it!) California bound in 2 days!! We are so ready for a taste of our west Coast home. Time is such a crazy thing, of course watching my kids grow with each passing moment is majorly bittersweet but it’s one of those things you really forget to seize until you’re reminded how much value it actually holds. Im pretty sure Weston has grown an inch since last week and it seems the baby in him just keeps fading everyday. (Insert Mom sobs here) I am SO ready to spend time with family & friends in Ca but a week to catch up after a year of time has passed never really fills that space of longing to be a part of their lives. Soaking in each moment of whatever season you’re in is so crucial! Being aware of the time and making strategic decisions means you never have to wish you did it differently, you’ll look back on moments in your life and your heart will feel full. Plus, the more that passes the older I get and… yeah, no thanks. Ps. Fall florals are killin’ me this year! So. Good.
