Sometimes I forget that fashion oozes materialism. That’s a pretty accurate and unfortunate truth, most of the time. But not always! (@joonandco is one of the ones reaching beyond the materialistic mindset of our culture & she’s right here in Grand Rapids!)
I’m fairly certain I’m not the only one that drools over luxurious (and on sale) denim or clothing that feels like butter on your skin, am I right?! But that isn’t my motivator. It isn’t about the brands, the must have trends or trying to be someone by wearing all the right things… especially bc I don’t think we should be limited to the ‘right’ things when it pertains to style. Don’t wish to blend in when you were made to stand out! (Wonder quote for the win!)
Have you ever spoke with a woman who has fought with image insecurities her whole life or the pain that’s brought for her? There are too many women that carry that burden and in reality, we all do to a certain extent. That’s where my motivation comes in, when I speak with a woman who’s carried the pain of comparison and insecurity and I’m able to help her! I wish you could see the magic moment when a woman slips on an outfit that fits in all the right places, boosts the color in her face and makes her smile continuously at her own lovely reflection in the mirror! SHE is my motivation. SHE is deserving and strong and beautiful! SHE is why chasing after my dream is necessary – she needs me and she’s worth it.
