You don’t have to utilize a specific item for the way it’s intended, styling it in a way that makes you FEEL amazing will automatically make you look amazing! Trousers don’t only mean you have to wear a collared shirt and pump, try dressing them up strappy heels & going casual on top or dress them down with loafers or sneakers when going dressier on top. .

On the days (like today, for me) that you just don’t have what it takes to put extra effort into your outfit (thank you monthly cycle for always showing up on time… no really, thanks! But ow!) always have a great black top to throw on with your fav pair of jeans. Black is lovely! It’s timeless, classy, the easiest to dress up or down and always looks great with your fav pop of lipstick! I wear my black tops pretty often and although I’m a total t-shirt kind of gal, I love a solid black top with some added fun details! The one pictured was less than $25 at Zara, it’s a ribbed fabric with a slight sheen that dresses up the denim instantly and the leather arm detail kicks it up one notch further! You can fool anyone into thinking you’re put together with a great pair of jeans and a solid black top with a little something extra! .

Mix your colors. Just do it! Mix em up, throw them on & be on your merry little colorful way! SO many colors work awesome together, not just for the eyes but for your energy! I know, I know, Black is the shiz that steals the show for a LOT of you and that’s a-ok! Black is classy & timeless, you can’t go wrong with it. Color isn’t for everyone but I WILL challenge you, add a color or a few (its ok, breeeathe!) colors & see how it makes you feel! Simple suggestions for those of you that often reach for black: -colored shoes -statement, colored earring -headband/barrette with color

You walk into a store & see this killer outfit on a mannequin, I’m talking like the trendiest white top with the most perfect ruffled sleeve & awesome cropped, raw hem jeans – you’re drooling! You get the goods and go into your fitting room only to discover that the cropped jeans are almost full length and the top looks like it has extra fabric in all the wrong places… uuuuuugggggg!! Common misconception – anyone can walk into a store and buy the same, cool clothes. The truth – that is a freaking lie. Shopping for you in your entirety means buying clothes that only come to life when matched with your body, personality & life style! The crazy thing is that even if a range of body types can pull off a certain style not all of those bodies & their skin tones can sport the same color, and color is a major key element to any wardrobe.
I LOVE to share how women can determine the right fit for your body type, the emotions that drive our shopping habits and how to start building a wardrobe that compliments and empowers your everyday! If you need some help or know someone who does send them my way!

Dear Mr. Sun,
Thank you for coming to visit and shining oh-so-vibrantly today!
So, this morning I went to a kickboxing class at 7:45am, I was still wiping sleep drool from my chin when I pulled up. So early. But! It was my first time & can I just say, I felt like such a BOSS. Seriously. The whole time I was taking to my punching bag, “my arms might be skinny, but fool you’re going down!!” It was an entirely different kind of satisfying than I had anticipated! I won’t be able to walk or lift my arms tomorrow but it was def worth it. After that I came home with a tray full tasty Starbucks drinks for my hair dresser (& lifelong friend), one of my closest gals & myself in preparation for a spring hair makeover in my kitchen! (Pics to follow someday, we all know I’m not the best at posting often…Is it bad that I don’t care?!) It’s been a really happy day and I’m a really happy girl. Also, any chance you noticed the incredibly fantastic top I’m wearing in this picture?! @clothandcabin Spring line gives me all the feels! This no jacket November weather in Michigan is awwwweeeesome! Heeyyyyo! The California in me is thankful for every warmer day we get! What about you?! Do you prefer warm weather or cold? I would take the snow however, I just don’t want the cold! •
If you’ve never purchased a scarf from @hm you should seriously consider it! They’re around $20/$25 and all of my favorite ones come from there, including this gray one. Soft, warm & always have great colors! Shopping for quality things doesn’t always mean spending more money, (I mean let’s be real, most times it does… but not always!) there are always treasures hiding in the ‘right price’ stores so keep an eye out for them!
