A sneak peak from today’s shoot with a few locals that seriously left me floating! Collaborating is the best! Well when it works as seamlessly as it did today, anyways. I’m ALL for partnering to create magic, without a doubt – but that’s not always the outcome, I’ve gotten majorly burned and discouraged as a result of collabs too. (Am I allows to say that or this a taboo topic?! I don’t really care either way. ??‍♀️)
But I choose to keep going, to forget about the people who treated me poorly or felt for some reason they had to bulldoze me. Maybe I was a threat? If that’s the case they never took the time to know me, my vision or my heart and that’s a bummer because I’m a pretty easy person to buddy up to! Needless to say, I’m a little bit more careful with who I choose to partner up with these days.
Today I worked with @helloimemmaquinn @alyssamcelheny @launchsalon and they were all of the things (and more!) that you hope for in a project! We made magic. I have more projects coming that I’m very excited to share with you all!! Plus more stunners from today’s shoot as well! .

Some days I’m completely consumed with trying to keep up with the trail of chaos this ones leaves behind. Think blueberries that seemed to have escaped his plate & somehow were stepped on, kinetic sand hiding in toy trucks all over the house, a game of Jenga that consists of simply ‘plowing them over’ again and again. Those are real days in my world, not days filled with hot showers and chasing after my career dreams in the coolest coffee shops around the city. I crave those days, I dream of them! But what I crave more is watching Weston play using his imagination, pausing while the house is in major disarray to play a game of Uno with Ryder (he belly laughs through them! It’s the best ever!) or letting Delaney sing on her microphone and hiding around the corner to listen while she sings worship songs at the top of her lungs! ———-
When I feel like my career dreams come secondary some weeks, I’m glad because that means my family came first. I have my whole life ahead of me to build my business which I will do with every spare moment I find and chase after my dream like a madwoman! ——
But it goes like this, I’m a wife. I’m a mom, I’m a girlboss Stylist. And I’m really proud of it!

I want to be authentic. (And good at math, but yikes… that is not the case!) I want to be true to who I am & approachable to all people! I hope to always offer my support and encouragement to people who need it and never make them feel invaluable or unimportant. Everyone has value, everyone is worthy of acceptance.

I don’t always do well the inauthenticity of social media. The fact that it’s a constant guessing game about what is real vs make believe is exhausting. I’m guilty of posting pictures I feel the best about but I don’t post them to gloat, or because I think I’m beautiful – in fact, I think my nose looks disproportionate to my other features in photos and showing my teeth is another one of those touchy subjects. I love style, I love clothes, I post my photos because I hope to inspire people! But also because it keeps me moving forward with my business since I am one of those people who fights with self doubt when momentum seems to fizzle.

I am however, confident. Sure that God made me with purpose! He gave me talent that will be used and needed and bring life to lots of people! I love what I do, I’m willing to fight for it and keep going through the hard days and moments of self doubt because someone needs me to show up & be the best possible version of myself! For me, it isn’t about just me. It’s about the people who need me to show up and be a stylist, a friend, an open ear, someone who won’t judge them or shame them. •
I’m in this thing to do what I love, to be successful at it and watch it produce fruit that lasts in people’s lives. Jesus gave me the vision for LivStyled, He keeps me grounded and full of hope for my future, He opens doors that I am in awe of and He is faithful!

I’m thankful tomorrow is Monday. I’m ready for a new week, another fresh start & another chance to make an ordinary week a memorable one. Too many weeks go by too quickly where I forget what I even did! I’m all about relaxing but I feel it all the way to my core that this season of my life isn’t simply for relaxing. It’s for investing, being intentional, operating outside of my comfort zone, pouring my heart into my dreams, my kids, my marriage, my church. This season of my life feels heavily strategic to my future, my career, my family, my spirit & my heart. I was challenged recently to focus on my emotional and spiritual needs more than I tend to focus on other people’s. Not in a ‘think about yourself and forget about those a-holes!’ Kind of way… more like, take the hint when your emotional investments aren’t healthy for you. Make some changes so that you’re positioned for success & not to get hit square in the heart by a fiery dart of emotional & spiritual turmoil. Maybe that seems obvious, but for me sometimes it takes more effort to remember to make sure that I’m in a healthy spot emotionally, spiritually & physically before I have anything healthy to offer anyone else & so that I am the best possible version of myself for my family, my business and for MYSELF. I’m feeling some deep things in my spirit this week & I’m excited to move forward with fresh perspective & a renewed mind! #hereiamsendme ? @kelseyhettinga

This tiny gent is one of the reasons I do what I do. He is wild and sincere and when he wants something he is relentless and passionate! Maybe because he’s 2 & driven by emotion or maybe because they’re the gifts Jesus created him with! I see a boy that will grow into a passionate, driven, motivated and spirited man! I hope to nurture & guide his liveliness instead of ever making him feel that his spirit needs to calm down. As a mama you get stretched in patients and self control, sometimes I have movements of total defeat and feelings of exhaustion in all avenues possible. But I also have countless chances to be stretched in creativity, motivation, dedication and love. It’s through my experience as a mom that I’ve built endurance, confidence, motivation, follow through & problem solving and it’s through their eyes and words that I feel like I am capable of achieving anything I put my heart into. They help me to see my moments of failure and self doubt as opportunities to improve & grow because that’s how I taught them to see themselves! It’s interesting when those life lessons are forgotten by us when it pertains to us! I’m just having one of those weeks where I’m feeling things pretty deep I guess, letting the Lord show me His relevance and presence in my life. Of course my kids are always one of the ways He gets to my heart! Ps. His CURLS!!!
