It will never be normal to hide your face from strangers, to bury your smile behind fear or a mask. I will never accept that as normal. We were created to be in relationship, to fight for the orphan and the widow, to bear a heart full of grace & compassion for others. We were created equal, there’s no justification for judgement or shame in creation the way God intended it. It’s not ok to wander past a stranger on the street and assume the worst, it’s not ok to judge someone who is doing their best & never take the time to learn their story. Humans were created to thrive together and to show compassion and mercy, to love despite differences! This feels like an impossible time in our world but silencing fears & walking in peace with our neighbors is the only form of healing we’ve got to hold onto right now. Love your neighbor as you love yourself – in your mind what’s your worth? You have an opinion? You have a belief system? Good. So does your neighbor and it’s as worthy as yours. It isn’t shame and judgement that bring the world to freedom. It’s showing compassion, walking in patience, showing gentleness, using self control, finding joy & peace, treating others with kindness, goodness & love. Choose to be a splash of hope in your world.

These babes! They make me feel like a crazy lady some days while others they have me convinced I’m the most admired, strongest woman in the world! As long as I have the chance to, I will choose to stay in the moments that makes me feel the deepest with them – when I’m angry to my core I’ll stay and choose to extend extra grace, when I’m excited I’ll get up and dance to make my kiddos giggle and stay there lingering in the silliness. When bed time rolls around and I’m exhausted I’ll choose to stay, snuggle & always pray for their hearts. When they’re angry, I’ll sit in silence offering them a safe place to talk when they’re ready. Part of being able to stay in those moments is learning where the weak spots are in me & allowing the friction I feel with my kids & the grace of God to dissolve them instead of becoming overrun by them. I want to always remember that my littles are learning from me, they’re taking something away from every moment, every interaction with me. I’ve only got a short season to be the mom I want to be while they’re little. They test my patients, my self control, my sanity & sometimes I fail miserably and like adults, children deserve respect and part of that is acknowledging when I’m wrong and saying I’m sorry. It’s not my favorite thing to embrace the personal challenges that come with the motherhood – growth is rarely a comfortable process – but you better believe I will always accept the challenge and give myself grace the same way I would with them. Being a mom is brutal and beautiful, consuming and liberating and I wouldn’t change a single moment of it! .

Some days I lose my mind completely. Others, I’ve never known such peace being in a season of stillness with my family. It’s very much a day-to-day question of, ‘how’s this day going to go?’ I forget what it feels like to have extra time for myself or the mental capacity to dream about my business endeavors or the ways I want to see it grow beyond this wildly unpredictable season. But what I have had time for is loving my kids, for getting lost in the chaos and creating something fun out of it, for embracing the moments that we overcome difficulties and trade them for fruit that remains & for accepting that my personal time is at 11pm with my fav snack in a safe house. We’ve watched too much tv, we’ve eaten our weight in bread & burritos (gotta support that local taco shop ya know!) but we’ve played hard, we’ve loved hard & despite difficulties we’ve laughed and we’ve felt safe. We’ve grown together. If that’s what we get out of this then that’s ok with me! Growing with the people I love the most, protecting them & investing in them. Because even if my efforts aren’t specifically directed at myself I’m growing as a mama, I’m becoming more self disciplined and more aware of what’s the most important in this lifetime – my people. .

It doesn’t get more real than this. It doesn’t get more real than battling worry or silencing deafening, fearful thoughts. Or having chapped hands from over sanitizing because hubby still has to go to work & all you want is to protect your family from germs that could be carried too close to home. It’s REAL to wonder about your kids schooling or if you’ll have a job after all of this, to think about the impact this will have on those littles who need the stability and protection of a dependable, safe school where they can get an extra full belly or our elderly loved ones & immunosuppressed that need extra safe shelter from the outside world. It’s real to dread running to the store to find empty shelves. But you know what else is real? God is BIGGER. The vastness of His love covers this world & bridges hearts all across the globe to support to each other! Organizations that can provide meals for kids are being financially poured into, we have more time to BE with our families – to teach our kids & to protect them. Grocery stores have established hours just for the elderly to safely shop, we are choosing to protect our neighbors & those at higher risk by quarantining so we stop the spread. We are choosing each other in a world that so often chooses ourselves. There are far too many unanswered questions & too many opportunities to worry but if there’s one thing we can put our hope in, it’s God! He created us to heal. He’s redeeming, He fights for us against an enemy that comes to steal our peace, kill with a virus & destroy our economy. If you don’t have hope that God is greater, what do you hope in? He will keep fighting on our behalf but He calls you to fight the good fight of faith too, don’t carry fear onto IG or spread it along with the virus. Choose to speak hope, to believe in the good that the world is creating in the middle of chaos, to have faith that God is still good in a broken world. And when this is all over, keep choosing each other. .

Raising a daughter has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life, because while raising her I have had the constant challenge to become the woman I hope she desires to emulate & although far from perfect, she has unknowingly pushed me to blossom with growth. I want my Delaney to always know her worth, to stand up for what she believes in unashamed, to love others & be a safe place. I want her to understand she was created with a purpose, to feel worthy, to be confident, to chase after her dreams with grit and grace & ya know what? I’m the female she needs to see embodying those things. I have so much growing to do but I will never stop going after it because she and I, we are both worth it! And YOU are worth it! Women need each other, to grow together, challenge each other to do the hard work and walk through a life of uncertainties knowing full well that they aren’t doing it alone and they’ve got a sisterhood standing beside them. .

I don’t love pink. But I sure am wearing a lot of it in this picture! (Happy Vday!!) This obnoxious jacket gave me so much life last winter! It was bright & warm & sassy and all of the things I needed it to be to make me feel happy! Guys, that’s what it’s all about – this life. It’s about living happy and letting it ooze (even though that’s the worst word in the English language) from every facet of our being so we can spread it around and mix it in and let it overpower all the confusion and discord in the world around us. Every day we have a choice to make – to contribute to our grumpy, judgmental world or to stand up for something that creates life & leaves an impact, a legacy of delight & fulfillment. I choose happy! I choose to silence judgements, to embrace differences in people, to wear a baby pink jacket when I feel like it, dang it & to not leave room for comparison or self doubt. I’m worth it and so are you. .

When you think of your happiest, most confident clothes – what triggers that inward exhilaration for you? Color? Texture? Bold print? Clean lines? Simplicity? There are so many, many things that contribute to our personal style but the most important of them all is how you feel in what you’re wearing! If you only wore what made you FEEL AMAZING then your style would take shape all on its own because confidence would emerge! When we feel frustrated and insecure in our clothes the total opposite happens, we feel unsure & insecure which translates too easily to awkwardness and constant self doubt. We carry ourselves differently and the cycle of self doubt gets fed. If you could wear one thing for the rest of your life (that’s not strictly lounge wear, that’s an obvi one!) what would it be? Does a color come to mind? Fabric? Print? Certain silhouette? Dive further into what it is about that thing that makes you FEEL secure & don’t let people or social pressures make you change your mind. Lean into that thing and start exploring it more! For me, I’d choose tshirts – I stopped telling myself they’re too boring and I started challenging myself to wear them more and style them differently simply because I felt good in them, now it’s a uniform! I feel confident, sexy, secure & totally myself when I wear one that I love! Take off your insecurity outfit and put on your confidence uniform! .

On the days (like today, for me) that you just don’t have what it takes to put extra effort into your outfit (thank you monthly cycle for always showing up on time… no really, thanks! But ow!) always have a great black top to throw on with your fav pair of jeans. Black is lovely! It’s timeless, classy, the easiest to dress up or down and always looks great with your fav pop of lipstick! I wear my black tops pretty often and although I’m a total t-shirt kind of gal, I love a solid black top with some added fun details! The one pictured was less than $25 at Zara, it’s a ribbed fabric with a slight sheen that dresses up the denim instantly and the leather arm detail kicks it up one notch further! You can fool anyone into thinking you’re put together with a great pair of jeans and a solid black top with a little something extra! .

NEW story!! I’m a basics kind of gal 90% of the time. Not boring, basic – there’s a difference! Today I wore a basic outfit with a splash of print on my shoe then made a few simple changes to get ready for date night with my hubs! I also shared part of what goes into discovering your personal style! Personal style should be a combination of things that you’re interested in which could include lifestyle, music, color, minimalism, culture, family or values. Your style should also make you feel excited and interested in your own wardrobe! I love helping my clients discover and start to build their unique look! My story today is a little bit about my own style! .

THIS, you guys! Truth! Only a liar can make you feel isolated in a world full of people fighting the same battles as you. Depression, anxiety, divorce, miscarriage, grief, insecurity, self doubt, fear… we’ve ALL experienced something that’s left us broken. Every. Single. One of us. (Yeah, it’s gettin’ real up in here.) The catch is that most of the time we to choose shame and isolation from our brokenness over believing that it doesn’t define us or determine our future. A perfect Insta photo is lovely but it’s too easy to hide behind & we can’t maintain a life that appears beautiful when everything behind the scene is falling apart. It took me a long time to stop feeling shame for miscarrying 3 of my 6 babies. Who told me that was MY fault?! Who says you deserved to be abused? Who said you aren’t good enough to chase after that dream? Those are lies that too commonly take the place of our truths – that we are beautiful, we are desirable, we are strong, we’re fighters, we’re creative & fierce and capable! These truths & lies bleed into every area of our lives including how we dress & carry ourselves. Welcome to my WHY! I don’t believe that any woman should wear clothes that lie to her every single day & tell her she’s not worth looking good and feeling good. Clothes that make her feel unattractive & uninspired. Not when it’s something we can work on gaining control of. Clothes trigger our insecurities or they make us feel confident! Go through your clothes, don’t hold onto the things that keep you feeling uninspired. Save a little money & replace that item with something that makes you feel killer incredible! Even if it’s just one piece at a time, eventually your wardrobe can be a safer place for you. I want that for you with all of my heart! .
